A tasty ‘Feastival’ for Tetbury

September 22nd, 2011

Over the years, The Angel Bakery has sold its cupcakes at many food festivals including large events such as the Cheltenham and the Bath food festivals. But there is one little festival that has a place in our heart and that is the Tetbury Food and Drink Festival.

Five years ago a very small group of enthusiastic, hard working (and unstoppable) ‘Tetbury-ites’ decided to create a local food festival. With little funding they managed to create an event that has gone from strength to strength, encompassing everything that is great about British food.

The week long festival takes in many aspects of food and food production. You can get an insight in to organic farming by taking a tour of the Duchy Home Farm or learn how to make cheese under the guidance of Melissa Raven of Woefuldane Dairy.

Various hotels and restaurants will also be putting on their own special menus for the event and officionados of the great British banger might be interested to know that The Close Hotel will be hosting the annual Gloucester Old Spot Sausage Appreciation Society Dinner – yumm!!

The week of feastivities culminates on the Sunday with a Producers Market where you will find over 40 local businesses selling their tasty products. During the day there will be demonstrations from celebrated chefs, writers and bakers including Xanthe Clay, Tom Herbert and others, including sausage making, butchery and bread making to name a few.

You’ll also find us there with our range of seasonal cupcakes, bakes and tarts. And we will be giving you the chance to bag yourself a FREE cupcake. Keep an eye on our cupcake link to find out how …..

Vintage and Cake

October 25th, 2010

In September 2009, Tetbury was lucky enough to have a new addition to it’s high street in the form of Qetty Bang Bang – a fabulous vintage clothing boutique run by founder and creative director, Kerry Spurry.

We were asked by Kerry (Qetty) to create some canape cupcakes for her launch party and since then we have supplied cute little bites for other special events at her amazing boutique.

We will be teaming up with Qetty again on Sunday 7th November for another of her very special ‘invitation only’ shopping events.

If you would like to receive a personal invitation by Royal Mail, which will include a discount of 15% off all clothing, and Alex Monroe jewellery too, please send your name and address to info@Qettybangbang.co.uk

Qetty Bang Bang will be showcasing their new gift ranges from Miss Budd, Faux Kiss, Aiga Ceramics, the Curious Chocolate Company and we will be there with some delicious canape cupcakes accompanied by a glass of something special.

With a wide array of fabulous vintage designs and jewellery to choose from this is the perfect opportunity to get ahead for Christmas without the headache!

Wearable Art and couture cupcakes

September 7th, 2010

Time has sped by since our last post, with lots happening in the past couple of months. As well as running our regular stall at Cirencester Farmers Market we have had a vast number of weddings, corporate events and parties to bake cupcakes for.

Towards the end of July we set up shop at the Wearable Art Parade in Painswick. This was the 2nd year that Painswick has held an Arts festival, but this was the first time that they have held their parade of wearable art through the old streets of the town.

Contestants were asked to interpret one of three themes to design an extravagant, imaginative, bizarre but above all wearable creation. And there proved to be some real show stoppers with titles such as The Queen of Arts; Dolly Couture and Ta-ra-ra-bustiere!

With compere, Keith Allen, overseeing proceedings it proved to be a mad day out and much fun was had by all! Roll on next year!
